For this seasonal album we bring together eight unique arrangements of festive folk tunes from around Europe that capture the hush of Christmas Eve. After opening with the traditional Welsh lullaby ‘Suo Gan’, we then move onto the French classic ‘Noël Nouvelet’, visit Croatia for a passionate performance of ‘Nevijska Kolenda’, and in Sweden find a reimagining of the hymn ‘Ett Barn’. Catalonia features with a rich choral setting of ‘El Noi de la Mare’, followed by a gentle Spanish lullaby ‘A La Nanita Nana’. We return to Manchester, the group’s hometown, for a rowdy rendition of ‘The Christmas Goose’, and finally get the perfect send off with a fresh take on ‘Auld Lang Syne’.
