The Apex Singers are an 8-part vocal ensemble renowned for their innovative arrangements and distinctive sound. With over 50 bespoke arrangements, their repertoire showcases the individual voices within the group, creating a truly unique and captivating musical experience.
Adding to their accolades, The Apex Singers’ live performance of "Wild Mountain Thyme" at Hallé St Michael's earned them “Oustanding Live Video” at the A Cappella Video Awards 2023. Their studio albums, "Hiraeth" (2020) and "Stravaig" (2022), have garnered critical acclaim, including two Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards and Simon Mayo's Album of the Week on Scala Radio. The Apex Singers' original arrangements have also been performed by renowned ensembles around the globe, including The Vancouver Youth Choir (Canada), Exaudi Youth Choir (Australia), UW Harmonists (Germany), Ardú (Ireland) and Mannskoret Arme Riddere (Norway) to name a few.

The Apex Singers regularly perform live and have sung in a variety of venues and events from festivals (Bolton Choirs Festival), outdoor stages (Kaleidoscope Festival) and churches (Dunblane Cathedral) to concert halls (The Stoller Hall) and theatres (Liberty Hall Theatre). The Apex Singers are played regularly on regional (BBC Radio Cymru, BBC Radio Manchester, Celtic Music Radio), national (Scala), and international (Sunshine 106.8, Acaville) radio. The group runs workshops and masterclasses with vocal ensembles of all abilities, tailored to help develop and nurture groups' singing as an ensemble. STRAVAIG
‘Stravaig’ – Old Scots word meaning ‘wander about aimlessly'.

Released in September 2022, Stravaig is a collection of arrangements that were first arranged and performed as part of a series of releases created in isolation during the 2020-21 quarantine. The album received two CARA nominations (Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards) for Best Folk/World Album, and Best Folk/World Song (Wild Mountain Thyme) and the group's live performance of Wild Mountain Thyme at Hallé St Michael's won Oustanding Live Video at the A Cappella Video Awards 2023.

HIRAETH
‘Hiraeth’ – Welsh word meaning ‘nostalgia’. A deep longing for home.

Released in March 2020, The Apex Singers' debut album Hiraeth, brings together fresh arrangements of folk-tunes from different cultures representing every continent, from an African lullaby, to a vocalised Irish jig. The album received two CARAs (Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards) for Best Folk/World Album and Best Classical/Traditional Song (Solrenning Sæle). Following its release 'Hiraeth' was chosen as Simon Mayo’s ‘Album of the Week’ on Scala Radio and is one of radio presenters Jack Pepper & Angelica Bell’s top three albums of 2020.
